I am so excited to release my second single of the year. Green Lights is a song that took many forms before coming to be what it is. I started making this demo in the Fall of 2023, as a completely different song. It had a completely different name, theme, lyrics etc. I knew I liked the bones of it but it didn't feel quite right. So it sat in the archives for about a year, until I re-opened the session and a new inspiration hit.
The song opens with a pitched-up vocal saying "in the morn, in the morning when I wake up". This was one of the first production ear-candy pieces that started to define the sonic landscape for "Green Lights". I leaned into my Bon Iver/Frank Ocean influences, and the song truly began to write itself. I remember working on it for hours without even realizing, which is always a good sign that the juices are flowing.

I really love the way the production came together. It feels very 'me' in so many ways and I can't wait for it be out in the world. If you've ever felt conflicting signals in your life, you may relate to this one!
