Wow it is the first day of September, how the seasons change so fast...
Seems like just a month ago I was releasing "Cold Feet" in the dead of winter. But here we are, in September, with fall just around the corner, and my new FULL LENGTH album AVENUES only 25 days away.
Before we get into my shameless plug for AVENUES, which I will get to, I thought I would recap some highlights from the summer.
Going into summer we had just released my second EP "Boundaries" which felt great to get out there. I had been singing those songs at shows for years so it was so fun for people to finally be able to stream them and start hearing them being sung back to me on stage.
After that I said lets put out a b*tchy little track called "Happy" that was a different sound for me. This song isn’t my usual go to style, but it was fun to put my producer hat on and try a genre out of my comfort zone for my own music.
I also did a video shoot with my creative friends for the LP to showcase some of the new tunes. Honestly, those couple of days were so fun to experiment and create with my buds to see what we could come up with. Not only do I think we made something fun, I got quality time with people that I love, which can be hard to come by in busy summertime.
Of course, I golfed a lot, did some cool bike rides, swam in many lakes and enjoyed really nice family time this summer.
Lastly, I got to play one of my favourite shows yet, opening for Glass Tiger at the CNE last week. This was truly an incredible experience. The crowd was amazing, my band was awesome, I felt comfortable on stage with my new looper set up and everything just felt completely locked in.

In all seriousness, this album has been such a compilation of my life up to this point. I guess you could say it's the *avenues* that I took to get here.
